The Story
The fashion supplier hessnatur is the market leader in the natural-textile market in the whole German-speaking region. The company offers a complete product line of natural textiles with an established clientele of 700,000 customers. The distribution channels are conventional dispatch, stationary commerce and e-commerce. hessnatur now has the goal to enter the US-American market as well. For that reason the fashion supplier instructed hmmh at the end of April to create an online shop for the US market.
The Challenge
The ambitious aim: the implementation of the complete US shop in only 2 month including a connection to the enterprise resource planning AS/400 with customers, orders and availabilities as well as call centre frontend and templating.
The online shop
hmmh realised the online shop on the basis of the shop system XT:Commerce. The configuration of the shop resulted from using HTML/CSS- and PHP technology. The special feature of the implementation is the integration of the search technology “FactFinder”, which, as self-contained software, runs independently from the shop system. The clou: the search function is linguistically fault-tolerant. Typical and frequently made faulty insertions, such as typing- and grammar mistakes, are no longer a problem. Furthermore, hmmh employed the rich-media application Scene7 by Adobe. With the backing of this tool a high-performance, web-based application is established which generates all required image formats dynamically and on-demand on a master image. The Zoomviewer allows the customer to zoom in the product and to choose from several perspectives. Another highlight is the special call centre mode. Therewith, call centre agents have the opportunity to support customers from every location via the XT:Commerce backend as well as via the web shop. hmmh mastered all challenges of the brief bravely with an in-depth, strictly followed project plan and close collaboration with the client.
