hmmh expands management board

Strongly positioned for the future: Gerd Güldenast, Marcus Person and Michael Rocker join Stefan Messerknecht and Björn Portillo on the management level as Managing Directors of hmmh. As such, the agency for Connected Commerce with headquarters in Bremen expands its management board to a total of five members.

Bremen, 9. June 2016 — Companies are facing increasingly more complex challenges from digital transformation processes, particularly in online trade. More than ever these call for holistic approaches in finding solutions. In order to continue strengthening its ability to conceive of and implement customer-specific solutions in the future, hmmh, the agency for Connected Commerce with headquarters in Bremen, is now expanding its management level: Effective immediately, Gerd Güldenast, Marcus Person and Michael Rocker will join the two Managing Partners Stefan Messerknecht and Björn Portillo as Managing Directors in the management of hmmh. All five members of the management board have worked for hmmh for many years, and will now assume newly defined fields of responsibility. The aim of expanding the management level is to bolster the problem-solving capabilities of the Plan.Net Group agency, increasing the business success of its customers at the same time.

"In order to remain successful as digital agency in the long term, it is essential that all employees apply their expertise across disciplines and topics to achieve the best possible results for customers, and connect innovative ideas with established solutions. The new management board is ideally positioned to achieve this, and guarantees close collaboration between all colleagues," says Stefan Messerknecht, spokesman of the agency. In future we will respond even more specifically to the needs of companies and guide them through the world of Connected Commerce," explains Björn Portillo.

The members of the management board

Stefan Messerknecht (53) and Björn Portillo (46) form the executive board of hmmh. Since July 2014 when hmmh became part of the Plan.Net Group, they have also been involved in the agency as Managing Partners. Both are engaged in the strategic management and further development of the agency against a backdrop of an increasingly more dynamic market environment. Beyond that, Björn Portillo, who has worked for the company already since 1989, will continue to head the business areas of Digital Marketing and User Interfaces & Website Solutions.

Gerd Güldenast (42) joined hmmh in 2008. Effective immediately he will bolster the business areas of Consulting, Connected CRM and intelligent E-Commerce solutions. "Digitalisation has changed everything in recent years. That is why,  for many years now, our expertise has encompassed much more than just the building of an online shop. Instead, we are working on establishing useful links between online and offline," says Gerd Güldenast. As graduate economist and political scientist, before joining hmmh he worked as Project Manager, Consultant and Management Consultant at notable management and technology consultancies – among them Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and Accenture.

Marcus Person (43) has worked at hmmh since 2007, most recently in the capacity of Head of Account Management. Now he will assume responsibility for the business areas of Content Management and Mobile Applications & Devices. "The number of potential touchpoints is constantly increasing, and each consumer expects content that is different, context-related and tailored specifically to them – regardless of location, device or time. Ultimately it is about the sensible placement and individual manipulation of content, and about achieving a seamless, cross-channel shopping experience – i.e. a 'Connected Customer Experience'. I look forward to advancing innovative solutions in my new position – solutions that will enable customers to do precisely this," says Marcus Person. Before joining hmmh the marketing and sales economist (VWA) worked as Marketing Manager at Netwave GmbH and as Sales Manager in E-Business and E-Marketing at Netcenter AG, where he looked after notable companies as they made their way towards E-Commerce. In his most recent position, Marcus Person worked at Addison Software und Service GmbH as sales agent for SMEs.

Michael Rocker (48) has worked for hmmh since 1994 and will continue to head the agency's New Business area, as before. "Current developments demand holistic, flexible and seamlessly-connected strategies and processes. We see it as our obligation to help our customers with these complex issues.  For that we offer intelligent solutions across all areas of business," he explains. Before he began working for hmmh, the graduate marketing specialist (Fachkaufmann) worked successfully several years as freelance marketing consultant.
